How to fly the kite and developing muscle memory.The process of learning to kiteboard involves: Learning to fly a kite effectively generally occurs by the end of one lesson, and you can expect to be riding a board with one to two lessons. While everyone has a unique learning curve, a kite tends to be intuitive to fly and comes naturally to most. This is inherently a tough question because the pace at which you learn depends on your background of skills. The joy of kiting is that there is always something new to learn! Our talented instructors can teach you to ride a surfboard strapless in waves, jump big (REALLY BIG!), unhook, or land one of the tricks you’ve dreamed of trying. Then you'll learn how to get up efficiently to ride in both directions and hold an edge consistently, and you'll begin working on transitions and other advanced maneuvers.ĭay 4 & Beyond - Double Black courses are for already self-sufficient kiteboarders looking to take their existing skill set to the next level. We start by revisiting and refining your kite control. These students will focus on the advanced skills needed to go out and kite solo, hold upwind confidently, complete transitions, and start getting air.ĭay 2 - Blue Levellessons are for people who have flown a kite, have kite control, and are ready to get up and riding consistently. This course is designed to make it easy to learn and provide students the basics needed to get started.ĭay 3 - Black Level courses are for students who can ride consistently in both directions, have good kite & board control, and are becoming self-sufficient. Our goal on day one is to end the lesson with you getting your first attempts at riding a board.

We recommend you book the water lessons on different days, even if you’re the kind of athlete who can handle extended physical exertion. The water lessons can be very physically demanding. Lesson 2 and Lesson 3 are water lessons with one-on-one instruction. The three classes last about two hours each, for a total of approximately six hours. If you’re seriously interested in learning to kiteboard, this package is the unbeatable way to get riding quickly, safely, and confidently. This package includes all three of our beginner classes. WOW Kiteboarding provides helmets with built-in radios for ease of communication between you and your instructor. You wouldn’t want to learn how to ride a bike with out knowing how to stop would you?Īll in-water instruction for beginners is one-on-one. It’s possible to get on the board quicker, but more time learning proper kite control and safety, will help give you a mind set of a responsible kiter.

The first lessons focus intensely on rigging, mechanics, conditions, how to maneuver yourself around in and out of the water with and with out the board.
